Data deletion
Closed Loop connects to Meta only when an owner or admin of a workspace chooses Connect with Facebook or pastes a system-user token. This page lists what Closed Loop keeps from that connection and the four ways to remove it. Each one works on its own; you do not need to ask us first.
What Closed Loop keeps from Meta
- The access token Meta issues for your login, encrypted with a key unique to the workspace. Nobody can read it in the app, and it never appears in logs.
- Your Facebook user id and name as Meta reports them, which permissions you granted or declined, and when the login expires.
- The ids and names of the ad account, dataset (pixel) and Page you pick for the workspace.
- A receipt for each conversion event Closed Loop sends to Meta for the workspace: the event name and id, when it was sent, and Meta’s reply. The receipt keeps a SHA-256 fingerprint of what was sent, not the event itself.
How to remove it
1.Disconnect in Closed Loop
In the app, open Connections → Meta ad account, choose Disconnect and confirm. Only an owner or admin of the workspace can do this.
If you connected with Facebook, Closed Loop first asks Meta to remove every permission your login granted. It then deletes the token and clears the ad account, dataset and Page from the workspace. If Meta refuses the removal, nothing is deleted and the page shows Meta’s error, so you are never told access was removed when it was not.
If you pasted a system-user token, Closed Loop deletes it, but it keeps working at Meta until you revoke it there: Business Settings → Users → System users → your system user → Revoke tokens.
2.Remove Closed Loop on Facebook
On Facebook, open Settings & privacy → Settings → Business integrations, select Closed Loop and choose Remove.
Meta stops accepting Closed Loop’s token straight away, so Closed Loop can no longer read your ad account or send events to it. The next check in Closed Loop shows that Meta refused the token. To delete the stored token as well, use step 1, 3 or 4.
3.Delete the whole workspace
A workspace owner can open Settings → Delete this workspace and type the workspace’s short name (the part after /app/ in its address) to confirm. This deletes everything in it at once: offers, reports, connections (including the Meta token and its history), events, receipts, members and AI connections. It cannot be undone.
4.Ask us to delete it
Email privacy@getclosedloop.io from the address you sign in to Closed Loop with. Name the workspace, or say that you want your Closed Loop account and every workspace you own deleted. Use this if you cannot sign in, or if you are not an owner or admin of the workspace that connected your Facebook account.
We confirm by email when the deletion is done, within 30 days. If we cannot confirm that a request comes from the account holder, we ask before deleting anything.
What stays after you disconnect
- After step 1 or 2, the workspace keeps a closed record of the connection: when it was made, who in the workspace made it, and the Facebook user id and permissions it had. It holds no token. Step 3 or 4 deletes it.
- Conversion events Closed Loop has already sent are held by Meta under Meta’s own terms. Closed Loop cannot delete them from Meta.
